Why is Sports Medicine Research Important?

Sports medicine, like sports itself, is a constantly developing field. Sports medicine research has improved our knowledge of the body and resulted in more effective therapies that allow athletes to return to sports at a faster and higher level.

These medical advances are also allowing patients to be more active and exercise for longer than previously thought. We believe that sports medicine research, continual improvement, and inventive methods to enhance the quality of life in our patients are all extremely important.

The following research publications and book chapters authored or co-authored by Dr. Burnham represent his commitment to providing the most up-to-date, effective, and comprehensive sports medicine care to his patients.
